Boston

BOSTON!!

One of my third favorite cities in the world. If I couldn’t live in Chicago, then I’d want to move to Boston. It was such an awesome trip, and completely blew my mind away with how beautiful the streets were and how they preserved so much of their history.

I can only imagine how nice it is to live there and especially attend school. Harvard had a really nice campus, and while we were walking through it, I kept thinking about how lucky students are to have it as their campus.

I loved being so close to the water. While the city had great shopping and restaurants, I was more in awe of the overall design. We walked through different neighborhoods that each offered their own unique aesthetic, like Newbury Street, a more elegant and sophisticated area with boutiques and lively cafes. Strolling through the cobblestone streets on breezy March days, with the rain coming and going, really added to the feeling of being there.

We stopped by Central Perk, which was a pop up of the Friends cafe, so I was geeking out. Tatte is a bakery near Harvard’s campus, so naturally, it was packed inside, but offered a lot of space. We visited one of Harvard’s bookstores where I purchased “A Little Life”, a book I’d always wanted to read. The story so happened to take place in Boston, so I thought it was only fitting to buy. We spent a little time walking through Quincy Market and visiting the shops in the surrounding area. On our way, we would pass by outside vendors who sold a lot of fish. It was a little loud and chaotic, but really added to the experience. One of my favorite sites was the Boston Public library, which had a gorgeous interior and exterior that balanced the old with the new. I could spend hours in there looking at paintings, exploring the halls, roaming the outside areas, and just taking in everything.

I enjoyed this trip so much, I could genuinely see myself making a life here. As a romantic, I found the entire experience especially meaningful because it offered so much more than I could have ever dreamed. Mark my words, but this won’t be the last time I visit you Boston! So until next time…
