New Orleans
This was one of the first family trips we took where I could remember what we did. Since we hadn't traveled since I was little, I had minimal recollection of those trips. The thought of visiting somewhere new, especially a place as exciting and unique as NOLA, was something that really drove my passion for traveling.
I fell in love with NOLA unique and captivating spirit, a powerful testament to its history. Its blend of French, Spanish, African, Haitian, and other influences that have shaped its identity for centuries is fascinating. It's alive in every street, every song, and every dish.
My favorite memory I love sharing with others happened on our way to Cafe Du Monde. It was a sunny day, and the taste of fresh beignets was on our mind. We were walking across the street when, in the distance, we heard the sound of cymbals clashing, followed but the sound of a trumpet. We continued walking in the direction of the noise, the sweet sound getting closer and closer until we turned the corner and saw a small band on the side of the street. The sound of sweet jazz in the afternoon as we enjoyed our beignets is the epitome of NOLA in my mind. It was a rich memory that has stayed with me since then.
